Grassington
Grassington is one of the best loved of the many delightful little towns and villages in the Yorkshire Dales. It is an excellent base for exploring the high moorland and riverside walks of Upper Wharfedale and equally suits those who wish to stroll and those who wish to push themselves. The views are breathtaking and truly beautiful in all seasons.

Often described by locals as a "village" it is really a small town, as indicated by its name and the fact that it was granted a charter for a market and fair in 1282, which continued to be held regularly until about 1860.

The village is centered around a small cobbled square where there is a selection of family-owned shops offering quality food, clothing and gifts, alongside small cosy cafes, restaurants and hotels. There is a vibrant artistic community in the village with a number of art galleries, a pottery and numerous artist studios.
